In order to create these textures, I obviously wasn't able to travel around to different parts of the country, so instead, I watched the timelapse of the night sky and captured multiple states throughout the night in order to create a gradient.
To the left is my texture project from freshman year to give you an idea of the layout I was aiming for. For this texture project, we had to create a gradient and I used a wrapper, key, and lid to create the textures seen here. For my fascination project, I wanted to have a similar effect by making a gradient with the stars.
Below is my progress on how I got to my final start gradients. I show how I collected starts through snapshots and placed them next to each other to create a gradient. I then show how I created the star images in photoshop. Finally, you will see how I created the layout with the star gradients I collected.
